Happy Friday, friends! 👋 I wanted to take a momen Happy Friday, friends! 👋 I wanted to take a moment for a little #FridayIntroduction, especially since I snapped this self-portrait yesterday while tidying up the studio after a fun headshot shoot. 🥰 I'm Katy and I moved to Bloomington in 2006 to pursue a degree in journalism. I graduated from IU in 2010 with my degree (with a photojournalism focus and a couple of minors in art). I got to spend a summer abroad studying photography in Paris, too. 🗼 I started Icarus Photography in 2011, and it has been a wild, wonderful journey since. In 2018, I opened my first commercial studio space right here in downtown Bloomington, where I've had the joy of capturing everything from maternity and newborn portraits to headshots, generational portraits, and much, much more. 📸 Earlier this year, I got to expand from my cozy little Kirkwood portrait studio into a big, beautiful space at 3rd & Rogers and I finally have the wall of windows and huge ceilings I’ve always dreamed of! 😍 I’m looking forward to creating more art, meeting new people, and making more memories in this new space.
