Katy Lengacher is a Bloomington-based portrait and fine art photographer who specializes in capturing authentic, artful images that celebrate individuality and creative spirit. With a degree in Journalism from Indiana University, including studies in photojournalism, fine art photography, and art history, Katy blends technical skill with a deep passion for storytelling through her lens.

Since opening her studio in 2011, she’s worked extensively with actors, musicians, writers, and other creatives—helping them express their unique personalities through portraits that feel both timeless and personal. She also loves working with newborns, children, and families, creating heirloom-quality portraits that preserve life’s most meaningful moments for generations to come.

Her work has been featured in publications like The New York Times and USA Today, and she holds multiple awards and accreditations from The Portrait Masters, NAPCP and other national photography organizations.

Katy’s artistic vision is inspired daily by her family and community. In 2023, she had the honor of exhibiting a personal piece, a portrait of her daughter, alongside Johannes Vermeer’s “Girl with a Pearl Earring” at the Mauritshuis Museum in The Hague, Netherlands. Dedicated to creating purposeful and beautiful images, Katy approaches every session as a collaboration that brings her clients’ stories to life.
