I’m a few months behind in announcing this on the blog, but last fall, I was so proud to learn that I offiically earned my Associate Accreditation from The Portrait Masters. The Portrait Masters is an international juried portrait photography awards and accreditation, from which I’ve also won bronze and silver awards over the years.

As a photographer always looking to improve upon both my skills and business, I challenge myself to enter competitions on a regular basis. It keeps me on my toes and doesn’t let me get too comfortable, because there is always room to grow. The journey to Associate Portrait Master took almost four years of consistently leveling up my work, entering images into competition, achieving high professional standards with that body of work, and winning Bronze or Silver level awards that earned me points toward accreditation. Each round of feedback from the competition has taught me something important and raises the bar on what I want to accomplish.
